80km Ultra Marathon
Individuals: (80km) – Individual runners doing the entire 80km solo
- Under 20yrs Male and Female
- 20-39yrs Male and Female
- 40-49yrs Male and Female
- 50-59yrs Male and Female
- 60+yrs Male and Female
Relay teams of 2 or 3 runners: (80km)
Relay teams with either 2 or 3 runners completing the 80km course.
- Male

- Female
Relay teams of 4 or 5 runners: (80KM)
Relay teams with either 4 or 5 runners completing the 80km course.
- Male
- Mixed

- Junior
42km Marathon
Individuals: (42km) – Individual runners doing the full 42km solo
- Under 20yrs Male and Female
- 20-39yrs Male and Female
- 40-49yrs Male and Female
- 50-59yrs Male and Female
- 60+yrs Male and Female
The Grand Slam
Racing the 80km Ultra as a solo on Saturday AND the 42km Marathon on Sunday. Determined by adding the finish times together for both events.

Kids Run
A fun, kid’s run conducted on Sunday. No categories, no results. It’s a run, not a race!
PRIZES
80km ultra marathon
80km Ultra Overall Individuals 80km (irrespective of age):
- 1st male and 1st female: will each receive a medal and prize pack, PLUS FREE entry to the Surf Coast Century 2025 and $500 travel allowance to attend.
- 2nd and 3rd males and females: will receive a medal and prize pack
80km Ultra Individual Age Category
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd males and females in each individual age category for the 80km will receive a medal.
80km Ultra Relay Teams:
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each relay team category (Male, Mixed and Female) for Teams of 2-3 AND (Male, Mixed, Female and Junior) Teams of 4-5 will receive a medal and prize pack.
- BONUS – the fastest team overall, regardless how many runners in the team, will receive a FREE team entry to the Surf Coast Century 2025 and $500 travel allowance**
**for the team (not each).
42km marathon
42km Marathon Individual Age Category
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd males and females in each individual age category for the 42km will receive a medal.
The Grand Slam
80km and 42km Individual Category
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female (regardless of age) will receive a medal.
Individual finishers – updated ‘equitable’ cut-off times ***
80km ultra marathon
- Individual MALE finishers who complete the 80km course in less than 10hrs will receive a large wine glass trophy, newly named the ‘LEEUWIN‘. The newly adjusted individual FEMALE finishers cut-off for the large wine glass is now 11 hours***.
- Individual MALE finishers who complete the 80km course in a time between 10hrs and 14hrs will receive a medium wine glass trophy, newly named the ‘NATURALISTE‘. The newly adjusted individual FEMALE finishers cut-off for the medium wine glass is now between 11hrs to 15 and a half hours***.
- All finishers who complete the 80km course will receive a medal
42km marathon
- All finishers who complete the 42km course will receive a medal
NEW for 2025:
*** The cut off times for the wine glass trophies will be changed for 2025 onwards so they achieve gender equity. The times for female runners is increased by approx 12.5% compared to men, based on global race data that shows proportionally women are 10-13% slower in running races.

Kids Run
No awards as this is a RUN, not a race. Plenty of SPOT PRIZES though!
UTMB Qualifying Race & ITRA Points
The 80km Margaret River Ultra Marathon individual race is registered with the UTMB as an official qualifying race for the UTMB World Series with a value of 3 points. The Margaret River Ultra Marathon is awarded 3 ITRA points. For further information on UTMB click here.
